Re-Wilding the Psyche: An Eco/Soul-Centric Immersion Group:
January 19/20 – March 22/23
Every Tuesday and Wednesday Morning 8:30 – 11:00
Our wild minds actually possess astonishing resources, untapped potentials and depths that we might not even know exist until we discover how to access them, cultivate their powers, and eventually integrate them into our everyday lives as individuals, partners, parents, and healers.
In this intensive, based on an eco-psychological approach to the Self, we’ll access these depths and potentials — which we call the four facets of the Self, or the four dimensions of our innate human wholeness — and also the four sets of fragmented or wounded sub-personalities that form during childhood.
Rather than attempt to eliminate our sub-personalities (which is not possible) or to beat them into submission, we’ll cultivate the four facets of the Self and uncover the gifts – Yes, gifts! – of our sub-personalities. Our goal is to fully embody our multifaceted wild minds, commit ourselves to the largest, soul-infused story we’re capable of living, and serve the greater Earth community as whole and healers.
We Will Discover:
– how to recognize and consciously cultivate the four facets of the Self — your innate human wholeness
– how to identify the subpersonalities that supported you in childhood and adolescence to adapt to the challenges of family and social life, but ultimately became barriers to your full and authentic humanity
– practices and guidelines for cultivating relationships between the Self and your subpersonalities, enabling you to heal your subpersonalities, discover their gifts, and foster Self-actualization
– how each facet of the Self provides essential resources for the underworld journey (the descent to soul), its radical transformation of personal identity, and for living as a visionary artisan of cultural evolution.
We’ll explore the landscape of the psyche through a variety of eco-psychology and Soulcraft practices.
Cost: $25 each week or $200 for the 10-week immersion.
Limit 8 individuals each day
Based on the book Wild Mind: A Field Guide to the Human Psyche by Bill Plotkin
Praise for Wild Mind: “Here… Bill Plotkin guides us into a landscape where we recognize the extraordinary gifts of our true nature. Through his nature-based map we can not only find our powers of leadership, joy, sensuality and renewal, but also the dragons of self-deception whose energies we can liberate for the healing of our world.” Joanna Macy, author of Active Hope: How to Face the Mess We’re in Without Going Crazy.
A weekly nature walk where you begin to learn that only by entering into nature can you truly find your soul. Each week in the forests, meadows, river and creek beds of Ojai, Ca we will venture into a deeper facet of ourself that is found in Nature. Join me for a Praise Walk, a Walk into the Indigenous part of Yourself, learn the art of courting your Muse, or wander into a deeply nurturing place and find healing.
