Eco-Psyche-Artistry was founded in 2013 by Dr. Brian Stafford in order to support mature human development, reconnect individuals with the natural world, and bring Soulcraft™ skills and practices to Central America. Mature human development is rare in western culture. What is lacking are rites of passage, time in the natural world, true elders, and guides to the Mystery. Soulcraft™ skills and practices evoke the world-shifting experience of soul encounter — the revelation of our unique mythopoetic identity, an identity expressed through symbol and metaphor, image and dream, archetype and myth, an identity embodied in a mysterious story that whispers to us in moments of expanded awareness and exquisite aliveness. The shape and rhythm of this story reveals the hidden treasure that each of us carries for the world — a world longing for the transformative contributions of visionary leaders and artisans of cultural renaissance. Soulcraft practices spring from wilderness rites, depth psychology, ecopsychology, the poetic tradition, nature-based peoples, and from the wild Earth itself — and comprise a contemporary, Western, and nature-rooted path to the terra mysterium of soul initiation.
Who We Are
Eco-Psyche-Artistry exists to promote human and cultural maturity, wholeness, vitality, and reconnection with the natural word. We create rites of passage to support mature development. We assist individuals who are ready to slow down, voluntarily simplify, and rediscover the enchantment of the natural world. We support self-healing and developing wholeness, and guide individuals to "unfinished business" in their development. We guide individuals who are ready to descend to the depths of their own soul. We support individuals in the task of embodying these gifts in their world. With our partners, we support the Great Turning from a non-sustainable eco-cidal culture to a sustainable eco and soul-based culture. We do this work in our primary home of the wild mountains, chaparral, and meadows of Ojai, California. We also provide seasonal offerings in the mountains of Colorado and the beaches, jungles, estuaries, and mountains of Nosara, Costa Rica.
What We Do
Eco-Psyche-Artistry offers a rich assortment of rites of passage ceremonies, Self-healing and wholeness practices, and journeys into the mysteries of nature and psyche (soul) for individuals, retreat groups, progressive organizations, and individuals on sabbatical. These offerings include introductions to and intensive experiences with Soulcraft™ practices, contemporary vision fasts, and longer term soul-guiding and mentoring. We do not offer counseling, psycho-therapy, psychiatric evaluation or medication, or other psychoactive substances (entheogens). At this time, we do not offer guide training in soulcraft practices.
